When You Are a Guest at a Dinner Party or Housewarming
Have you ever attended a dinner party at a friend’s place and you just KNOW she put so much effort into the this being the perfect evening for you? Not only did she cook a killer meal and if you’re lucky, a yummy dessert, but there was so much more behind the scenes I bet you didn’t see!
Power cleaning the house, running to the grocery store, prepping food, fixing the first batch of cookies that maybe didn’t turn out quite right – oh and hopefully she found time to shower and prep herself before lighting the candles for your arrival. Phew! I’m tired just reading that.
So, to show your appreciation, it’s always a lovely idea to bring a small hostess gift and/or thank you note – handwritten that is. Trust me, she’ll love it!

When You are the Guest of Honour at a Bridal or Baby Shower
Whether you’re the bride to be or mama to be, you’re sure to get spoiled with gifts at your shower. Make sure you have a designated gift writer on hand as you open presents.
This person will record all the gifts you received and write down who it’s from so you can properly thank you them again later.
The following day, to a week after your bridal or baby shower, send out a batch of handwritten thank you notecards to every guest who attended and took the time to honour you with a little something. It’s so much more thoughtful and meaningful when it comes in written form (cue smiley, blushing emoji face here)!
When You are a Small Business Owner
If this is you, what a great opportunity you have to build a relationship and connection with your clients! Do you have an online product store? Make sure to send a handwritten thank you with the shipment along with your business card or next purchase discount card. This doesn’t haven’t to be anything huge, a little bit goes a long way here!
If you’re service based, like me, gifting a nice thank you note to your clients when the project wraps up is so important to me. You are thankful for them choosing YOU over many others and you should always take the opportunity at the end of the service to thank them, again.
Not sure what the heck to write?
